As an artist, what is your opinion on the use of references when drawing? (In this case, 'using a reference' is consulting a picture of someone when you're drawing them, or consulting official artwork when drawing fanart.)

I use references all the time - it's the best way to be accurate.
I don't use references, and it seems like a bit of a rip-off when other artists do.
I don't use references, personally, but I don't mind when other people do.
I think using references is a good thing to do when you're a beginning artist, but more experienced artists should try to do without.
I use references for fanart, but not for original artwork.
I use references when I really need to, but I try to do without.
